Buen Día Mamá

So first I'll share the spiritual things this week.

Probably the biggest miracle this week was with Cilvia Romero. She is an investigator that we have that wants to be a member but isn't married yet. She is with a guy named Cacho that is just like the guy off of Taken just older ha but he is cool. He gave us fish about two weeks ago that he caught at this lake close to Cruz del Eje. They have a 14 year old daughter named Marisol that wants to be Mormon too but it's dumb cause her mom says she has to finish this thing in the Catholic Church first.   But we are talking about that. Anyways we stopped by a couple times this week to see why they didn't make it to church and every time Marisol answered the door and said her mom was in the hospital to get meds. And finally we passed by Saturday in the afternoon and Cacho answered the door and said she was in bed and had problems with her heart and to walk or do anything hurt her chest really bad so she can't make it out of the house. I asked if he wanted us to give her a blessing and he said sure.  Then Cilvia came to the front room. We explained what it was and then I gave her a blessing and after explained that if she was faithful and showed her faith by her works God can work miracles and stuff.  Then we read a couple scriptures and sang the Spirit of God (because they wanted to know how to sing in the new hymn book we gave them).  While talking she got this really puzzled look on her face and was rubbing her chest and then she said " Chicos... Sabe que?" ha and I said " Que?" In reply she answered. " No tengo ese dolor en mi pecho." or in other words I don't have this pain in my chest anymore... Ha God is awesome! But yeah she was healed and now is a ful learning and stuff.

Other stuff happened too.  We had an activity in the church and played some soccer and found a bunch of people progressing but Cilvia was the most spiritual thing this week I'd say.

Sounds like the family is doing good. School is back up so I'm sure you will all be pretty busy.  Love you peeps and I'll be cooking in the sun here..... Super hot, it sucks ha but the work is awesome.

Love you and talk to you next week.

Hola mama

So this last week was pretty crazy. We worked like 2 days in our area. We had to travel to a place called Chamical that is 3 hours away by bus and we worked there for a day. We had a few miracles happen there. One lady we found, Yanina, her mom died after 15 years of cancer and yeah long story short we taught her, tears were shed and she came to church with her kids this Sunday.

We also went to Dean Funes and had an interview with a lady named Mirian. She was Evangelical but has a very strong testimony of miracles of faith and got baptized Sunday.

We had transfers today and I got a new comp named Elder Willis from Tucson AZ. He is 20 with 7 months into the mission. It will be cool to struggle together.  It's been a while since I've been with a gringo but yeah we are 4 gringos in the pension now and are putting some mean plans to get fit. Ha but it's a different story at 630 in the morning so we will see.

Sounds like everything at home is going good. Keep after Devin and film the grass relays just in case someone falls. That was the race I took 10th and only the top 10 got those little medal things. La verdad casi no logré pero por causa a su orgullo numero 11 perdió.

Well love you all and talk to you next week.

August 17, 2015

With regards to facebook friends for you mom, no I haven't found you any.  Mostly cause I haven't been looking. The only reason the other areas had friends is cause they asked me but we have been a ful this week.  I think I was in my own area 2 days and even then it was inviting people to the church. So yeah sorry but if someone asks I'll let them know.

The members are cool here.  They said I remind them are this elder that was here years ago and was a "capo" so I guess they like me a little.  Ha their kids do.  Especially after the talent show haha but I feel pretty special.  We have been talking to this lady (a member) to have her twins baptized and finally we got her to get going with it.  We had a friend of there's from Cordoba come out and baptize her twins and then she asked if me and my comp would confirm them. So that's what happened yesterday. The mom is really mean to her kids and their dad isn't a member.  Their parents aren't married and he has a bad back so I have been offering services.  He has opened up to us alot so maybe we can get them going. I just feel bad for the kids cause the mom calls them filthy cows and a bunch of other stuff that kids don't need to be called when they pretty much live as servants for there parents. There is a kid named Luciano that gets beat a lot.  He is a big kid but is 11 and yesterday his sister, who cooked lunch after the baptism, while we were eating they were talking about how Luciano knows how to make home made pizza. It's pretty sad.  He is 11! Mom I was playing basketball, football, baseball, video games and just chilling with friends. It's pretty hard sometimes to see them like that but it means alot to get to help them. Impactful.

But yeah that's just one family.  And yes I can take a normal picture.  I usually take two, one normal and one pretty haha.

And with feeling the spirit... I couldn't have told you if I had felt the spirit before the mission but here in the mission you understand what the spirit is. The closer you get to becoming like Christ the more you feel the Spirit. I'd say yeah pretty much anything you do to try to help someone you feel the spirit.  You just need to realize it's the spirit and not us but yeah you can feel the spirit when teaching for shizzle.

Well that's the questions ha that'll prolly do it for this email. This week was crazy but this next week we will be working in the area so should be a little calmer. We have transfers next Monday so I'll let you know how it goes.

Love you guys.  Hope all is well and say hello to everyone for me.

I dropped my Bible and I'm having a hard time getting it back into my bag.

My awesome companion made me breakfast.

One Year Mark surprise party with an ice cream cake.
We got to the apartment and had to go down stairs to grab something from the kiosco and when we got back Sister Martinez had made me a cake and sign. Ha she had made it in like 5 min haha incredibly fast. We live on the third flour btw she lives on the second and the kiosco is the first floor.

Before I cleaned the baptismal font.

After.

The sign Sister Martinez put on our door for Day of the Child ha yeah we don't have that holiday

August 10, 2015

Well the eventfulness that your week lacked mine had haha.

Last Tuesday we went to Cordoba to a zone meeting.  Haha this might sound unlike me but I led two special musicals. I got to the mission not knowing anything and looked super dumb but hey like ol' Ether says the things weak will become strong. I always led cause people thought it was funny to watch me struggle but when they asked who would lead I offered hahaha. I could lead the Tabernacle Choir now.  It's as if the wings of the angles have sprouted there forth and the celestial choir has accepted me as one of there's. But yeah that's what went down there. I got to see a bunch of friends there, and my hijo Elder Amado.

Saturday we had a talent show here in the church. I ended doing a little skit called pimpinela and also a rootin tooting cowboy howdown. Elder Muños from Nicaragua likes country but was scared to do it alone so I talked the other elders into doing a little jigg with us.

Sunday it rained pretty good. Not very many people made it to church. Kinda makes me feel bad of how blessed we are in the states. We get in our car, drive to the church and have like 10 seconds in the rain. Almost no one here has a car so they have to either walk in the rain or wait for bus in the rain and then walk. But yeah this week was more inviting and getting people excited for the talent show and then when it comes to salvation no one arrived. Hard at times but if it wasn't hard it wouldn't be worth salvation.

Love you guys hope everything goes good and ill talk to you next week.
